Norwegian happens to have both of these, and in this post I'm going to show why Norwegian is the easiest language for your average English speaker to learn. Two notes before I begin:

An essay is a formal piece of writing which describes, analyses or discusses a particular issue. The most common types are: Opinion essays. They present the writer’s personal opinion of the topic, supported with examples and reasons. A phrasal verb is a two- or three-word combination consisting of a verb followed by one or more prepositions (sometimes called “particles”). Unlike ordinary verb + preposition combinations (see my earlier blog post about collocations), the choice of preposition in a phrasal verb will nearly always determine the meaning of the sentence. Decide whether you agree or disagree with the title. Try to think of at least two or three good reasons to support your opinion, including examples of why you think the alternative point of view is wrong.
Organise your essay into clear paragraphs. Introduce the topic and give your opinion. Say whether you agree or disagree with the statement.
For each paragraph give a reason to support your opinion. Summarize your ideas and repeat your opinion using different words. There is a process to writing.

So to make my life easy when I start learning a language, one of the first word lists I try to consume is a list of “cognates,” or “English loan words,” which can be found quickly for pretty much any language.
